Scandal Rocks NTA College, Jos, As Rector Is Accused of Alleged Sharp Practices By Students and Staffs

Following the crisis rocking the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) College Jos, over poor administration of the institution by the Rector, the students union and Management staffs has accused Ms Halima Bewell over sharp practice of using the institution as her personal business property.

‪A senior staff of the college who pleaded anonymity revealed that Lecturers and students of the college are crying over poor learning environment as result of alleged bad leadership of the Rector.

The students and staffs blamed, Ms Halima Bewell for allegedly turning the institution into her own personal business.

Speaking to our correspondent, group of students expressed dismay over poor administrative principle of Ms Halima in her quest to manage the College.

They lamented that the college lack equipment for school Practical’s such as Cameras, Projectors and good studio monitoring equipment for learning.

The Rector was also accused of refusing to motivate external Lecturers who were being paid the sum of N45,000 naira per semester, a situation that has  caused  setback to the institution as most of the external Lecturers who are professionals are now leaving  for greener pastures elsewhere.

‪Information gathered by this medium alleged that Ms Bewell has been on acting capacity as Rector for the past three years and she doesn’t have the prerequisite qualification to head the Institution which is affiliated to the famous Ahmadu Bello University Zaria as a degree awarding Institution.

Universalreporters247.com findings revealed that students of the College are charged high in terms of payment of School fees, but received nothing during their learning as result of inadequate equipment since the institution is a practical learning institution.

The Rector this medium gathered has also refused to allowed the students to formed,’ ‘Student Union Government Executive ‘SUG” in the school which supposed to serve as a medium to voice out students policy.

“We pay over N100,000 as school fees, but what we received  in return is nothing to write home about, there is  no  need for the Federal Government destroy our future ”.

A source revealed to our reporter that few staffs in the college have been denied promotion by the Rector who wouldn’t want them to excel in life.

‪” You would recalled that last year the students protested over inadequate learning Materials in the school especially for Cameras, projectors and the old nature studio  which is not conducive for learning ”.

However, all efforts to speak with the Rector proved abortive as her call was picked by someone who told this reporter that the Rector is not allowed to speak to the media unless with permission from NTA headquarters.

He cautioned the reporter that he is not support to investigate the activities of the college.
