Rufus Bature  Withdraw Petition Against Senator ID Gyang

The Plateau North Senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and former Secretary to the Plateau State Government Hon. Rufus Bature has formally withdrawn his petition challenging the victory of Senator Istifanus Dung Gyang and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos, the Plateau State capital, on Thursday

 

Senator ID Gyang who succeed Senator Jonah Jang was elected to represents Plateau North in Red  chambers of the National Assembly Abuja.

 

According to Hon. Bature through his Counsel M.S Salihu Esq  filed a motion for the withdrawal of the petition.

 

He told the Tribunal that the prosecution of the petition would be a further waste of time.

 

The Tribunal Presiding Judge Justice T.N Nzeogwu granted the motion and dismissed the Petition before the tribunal Since there was no objection over the application for the withdrawal from the Respondents, Senator Gyang, PDP and INEC) in the petition, the Tribunal, dismissed the petition haven been withdrawn.

 

Leading a team of lawyers for Sen I.D. Gyang H. N. Uguawala Esq including Niri Darong Esq, expressed satisfaction in the withdrawal

 

You would recall that the Tribunal had earlier fixed Nine (9) days for the trial of the petition.

 

Hon. Bature has earlier challenged the declaration of the Senator representing Plateau North, Barr. I. D. Gyang as Winner even when he won with a wide margin of over 90,000 votes.

 

Senator Istifanus Gyang however describes the development as the will  of God for him to served the people of Plateau North Senatorial District and reaffirming his determination to uphold and deliver on the precious mandate given to him by the people of Plateau North.
