The Nasarawa State Correspondent of the Voice of Nigeria Amina Mohammed has escaped death by the whisker in a road accident that claimed the lives of the Personal Assistant to Nasarawa state governor on power, Jamilu Mohammed and one police officer attached to the commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Hon Kwanta Yakubu.
Amina who was in the commissioner entourage to inspect mining sites in Nasarawa West told this medium that she was called by the Public Relations Officer of the ministry said the journey was smooth not until the had a collision with the late governor’s aide who was on his way to Lafia.
According to her,”our journey was okay until we met our waterloo few kilometers away from Akwanga,precisely at the popular Asabe Guntuwa joint where the incident occurred.
Before i realized what was happening i just saw the upcoming vehicle of late Jamilu facing us when he dodged one of the vehicle by using the shoulder our driver still maintained his posture and to avoid head collision he diverted to shoulder still Jamilu followed us.
Adding, when I opened my eyes all that I saw was that everybody and everything has scattered in the bus perturbed by smoke coming all over.
She further explained that, “Though we are together with a reporter from the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and Mustapha Muluku of Radio Nigeria, Precious F.M.
Narrating how one of her from Radio Nigeria , Mustapha Muluku was served from the accident with the intervention of the commissioner with the exchange of words over front seat with security agencies attached to the ministry.
Amina Mohammed disclosed that Muluku was allocated a Sharon car which he joined directors from the ministry, adding that nobody in the entourage loses his life in the accident.
The Nasarawa state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Ramhan Nansel did not respond to a call by the state Correspondent of Universal Reporters at press time for comment.
