Fresh facts from an investigation have shown that the Bursar of Federal Science And  Technical College, Doma Mr. Eugene Okoye has allegedly embezzled the sum of N113,680,216 million meant for 2017,2018 Meal subsidy/augmentation for Federal Science and Technical College, Doma Nasarawa State.

The accusation was contained in a 2-page document that proved the disappearance of N113,680,216 million by the then management which the Bursar, Okoye was also part of the management team.

The questions now are why is the College management borrowing money from 10th November 2018 to feed the students? What happened to the overhead accrued to the College?

Why did the school use extra-lesion money to feed the students with the huge amount of money that is accrued to the College, the amount be N113680, 216M meal subsidy for 2017-2018 and why are food vendors lamenting over the non-payment of their monies.

Why was the College bankrupt with the colossal amount accrued by the Federal Ministry of Education?

The Bursar Eugene Okoye during a telephone conversation declined to comment over the sharp practices ongoing in the ten years old school.

Again the Bursar who was serving since the inception of the College was also accused of diverting millions of naira meant for the execution of projects ranging from the access road network, construction of one examination hall, procurement of 30 units of Tables and Chairs, construction of modern students dining hall and kitchen.

Other projects captured in 2018 capital projects are the construction of one administrative block, two blocks of student’s hostels and building of staff quarters.

The Bursar, Eugene Okoye in a telephone conversation said, “Please, I am in a vehicle coming back from Enugu. I can’t hear under properly. Moreover, whatever you want to know on finances of the FSTC Doma should be a channel to the appropriate authority not to me,” In a text message.

 

When universalreporters.ng contacted him on phone about the allegations raised, the Bursar said he is not afraid of anybody as far as he is a concern.

“All I know is that it is not the people of Doma community that gave me an appointment as Bursar, that they lack the willpower to transfer me out from the College.”

FSTC Doma has been in a serious financial recklessness leading to the confiscation of the 18 seater bus for students which was just released by High court 4 sitting in Lafia.

The Vice-Principal of the College, it could be recalled was arrested by security agencies over the debt incurred by the College as from inception to 2017.

Mr. Patrick Ogah, the Chairman when contacted said is not in a position to comment over the documents presented by universalreporters.ng since he was not aware of some of the contract awarded to the school.

“I’m the Chairman of the College but I don’t know anything apart from the contract for an access road, ongoing 2 bedroom apartment meant for staff as against the ongoing 1 bedroom apartment”.

Saying he would make his Independent Investigation verify the authenticity of the documents.

The Principal of the College, Emmanuel Haruna said he was warned not to grant an interview to Journalists without clearance from the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education.

Feelers from the Federal Ministry of Education hinted that Permanent Secretary and Directors are responsible for what is ongoing at FSTC Doma, the negative tendencies are acute shortage of English and math teachers while some privileged Unity Schools have sufficient staff, bankruptcy of the College even with the chunk amount of money collected from students as tuition fees, development levy fees, and PTA levy.
