Revealed:  How Governor Sule Of Nasarawa Collected N14.4 Billion Security Vote In Three And Half Years But Failed To Secure The State

The Director General of Atiku Abubakar  and David Emmanuel Ombugadu governorship campaign council, Labaran Maku has said Nasarawa state realizes a whooping sum of N14.4 billion in three and half years under the reign of Engineer Abdullahi Sule, stating that insecurity perturbed despite the colossal amount voted for security.

Maku gave the hint during the zonal campaign of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) at Wamba local government, he averred that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) got N300m.

Adding that the amount collected in one year gulped N3.6bn with nothing to show for, he however explained that Nasarawa state is not getting what it was meant for, appealing to the electorate in the state to vote wisely for the right party and candidate.

Labaran Maku disclosed that the PDP laid a solid foundation for the present Nasarawa state by providing a conducive atmosphere for the running of government businesses.

According to him, “in 1999, the PDP got 100% vote and we in return did the needful by providing the basic infrastructures which include the establishment of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, (NSUK) , the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lafia township stadium, Nasarawa United Football Club, the Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS).

Other projects executed by the PDP include the School of Nursing, Lafia, the Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, the Lafia branch of the apex bank, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and the only tertiary health facility, the Dalhatu Araf Specialists Hospital, Lafia as well as Doma-Lafia and Obi- Awe roads.

The state Chairman of the party, Hon Francis Orogu in his reaction urged party supporters to vote for a new crop of state lawmakers that will make things happen in Nasarawa state, going back to memory lane that only a formidable House of assembly will make things happen.

Orogu maintained that the party will produce a House of assembly that will be for the people, not the candidate that will be filled in the gap.

“Not like now that lawmakers are doing things wrongly, the assembly we have now forgotten their role of checks and balances, in essence, we will produce not only a vibrant but a practical governor of Nasarawa state”.

He explained that the blueprint of the PDP is everywhere to see and felt, he however described the Presidential candidate as a symbol of unity.

General Nuhu Angbazo retired while speaking and appealed to its supporters to remain firm, pleading with them to vote for PDP from top to bottom.

The governorship candidate, David Emmanuel Ombugadu in his speech called on the people of Nasarawa state to shun politics of religion and tribalism.

He said the people of Nasarawa state should vote for what will help build the state as well to consolidate on the past achievements of the Peoples’ Democratic Party but not destroy the future of the younger generation yet unborn.
