The paramount ruler of Loko community of Nasarawa Local Government,Abubakar Ahmed Sabo has confirmed that about twenty youths were killed recently in a clashed involving Fulani herdsmen and Agatu youths,Calling on the Government to provide more security to the violence stricken communities.
The chief lamented that there was only one unarmed police officer posted in the town with a population of more than two hundred people,he appealed to the affected victims not to take the law into their hands.
Meanwhile, the Nasarawa state Police Command has confirmed the killing of eighty-three cows belonging to herdsmen in the state by suspected gunmen.
The Police Public Relation Officer,Assistant Superintendent of police,Ismaila Numan while confirming the incident said the attack happened at the early hours of Saturday, April 30.
“We arrived the scene of the incident at about 3.30p.m. and discovered that the gunmen has killed no fewer that eighty -three cows belonging to one Alhaji Bajega Barguma of Adaye area in Loko Development Area.
Numan said the state police command was at the scene of the incident and that investigation is still on in order to fish out the perpetrators.
Baderi Ahmadu ,the leader of the herdsmen in Loko explained that the incident occurred last Saturday morning when they discovered that eighty three cows belonging to Alhaji Bagega Baruna were killed at Adaye area very closed to agatu community in Benue.
