Again Fulani Herdsmen Kill 3 Policemen In Nasarawa State-Commissioner of Police

The Nasarawa State Police Commissioner has confirmed that three police officers were killed by Fulani herders at Marraban Udegi in Nasarawa Local Government of the State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Samaila Usman disclosed this to selected Journalists at the Police Headquarter in Lafia.

He said the three Police officers, a Senior Police, an Inspector and one Danjuma (second name withheld) died.

The Commissioner said on Sunday at about 3:45pm SARS were deployed to quell ongoing clashes between Agatu and Fulani herders.

He stated that it was confided that an Agatu person broke a Fulani person’s leg and carried away his motorcycle.

“Immediately a team of Police men were deployed to the crisis scene by the Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The killings of killings of Police men in Nasarawa State bring the number to six in recent times.

The State governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has sympathies with the Nigeria Police over the loss of their men and officers killed by Fulani’s in the State.

The governor in a condolence message while addressing Egburra Internally Displaced Persons at Umaisha says Special Forces would be deployed to Nasarawa Local Government and the crisis stricken Toto.

It would be recalled that recently three police officers were killed in Azara community of Awe Local Government while on legal assignment to their fatherland.
