The rector Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Dr Silas Gyar has cautioned students of the Nasarawa State Polytechnic, Lafia to respect constituted authorities of the institution.
Dr.Gyar stated this during an orientation lectures for 2016-2017 Consultancy Services Unit of the Polytechnic, the rector advised students to be responsible people during and after their stay in the institution.
The Dean, School of General Studies, Loius Ogah who represented the headship of the Polytechnic sued for hardworking by the students, he however appealed to students to shun unethical and immoral conduct.
“Avoid bad company and association, adding that nobody is a failure in life rather other people make it to happen”.
“No matter how successful you are, there is certainly a trying moments for everyone, saying no sweet without sweat”.
The Chief Security Officer of the school, Rilwan Itari in a paper presentation titled “Campus Security Awareness” urged students to shun bad friends, report any suspicious persons in the institution.
He also appealed to students not to take the laws into their hands instead should follow the right means.
Mal.Rabiu Garba head of Science Department in his presentation titled “Assessment And Grading System in Nasarawa State Polytechnic emphasized on the need for students to attached prior attention to assessment.
He insisted that students should scores higher grade in assessment, he says the grading system makes the courses flexible.
Also one of the speakers in a paper titled “Social Vices and It Effect on the Academic Performance among Students in Tertiary Institutions” called on students to shun bad company, anti-social behavior.
“Social Vices affects academic performance, general well-being of an individual leading to lack of freedom.
The Director of the Consultancy Services Unit, Mal.Ibrahim in his remark commended the school management and students for exhibiting maturity and commitment.
