Rejoiner On Pankshin Low Cost Houses: My Humble Position By Rev. Fr. George Gorap

It is with a high sense of responsibility that I, Rev. Fr. George Gorap, the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board write a rejoinder to the false report and disinformation published in some online media blogs that I have bought all the houses in the Lowcost House of Pankhsin LGA.

This became very necessary and apperative for me to put forth my position since the publication of the false news and a meeting we had with the writers of the report who apologized for writing the report without verification, without finding out the truth and erroneously insinuating that I bought all the Low Cost Houses for business, when in fact, all the houses have been sold on to different interested citizens long before the report was blogged.

The bloggers, Mr. Yakubu Ventim and Mr. Alex Giwa in the presence of two Publishers profusely apologized and promised to publish any rejoinder given in line with the professional ethics of Journalism.

I have since forgiven the bloggers but expressed my displeasure at their needless report which attracted a lot of calls from my well-wishers to find out the true situation of things.

I took the pains to explain that the houses in Pankshin Low Cost were sold years before the report was written, thus, I couldnt have bought the houses.

Let it also be on record that I do not deal on lands, but a Priest. It is equally wrong to link me with the former Head of Service or the present one and the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning in matters that have to do with sale of Government properties as my role in Government is only to take care of Christian Pilgrims to the Holy Land and back.

I therefore call on all friends, brothers and sisters in Christ to be rest assured that the report is not only misleading, wrong, fake but not worthy of attention.

The story should be thrown into the dustbin where it truly belongs.
