The attention of Distinguish Senator Lawal Yahaya Gumau Media team was called by an article in Wikkitimes, an online media outlet by one Sani Danaudi Mohammed who claimed to be from Bauchi south senatorial district with the above caption.
Oftentimes we used to ignored people who are working on a scripts to smear the good name and hard earned reputations of the distinguish senator, many of them are attention seekers, their aim is to disrupt the senator in his legislative duties and engaged their paymasters in an endless and fruitless political debate.
To start with, it is true that the distinguish Senator is a one time member of the Bauchi state house of assembly, two time member of both House of representatives and senate, records shows that since the return of the Democracy in 1999,Lawal is the second most productive senator that Bauchi south senatorial district ever produced, second only to Late distinguish Senator Mallam Ali Wakili of blessed memory in terms of true representation of his constituents at the chambers and the provision of numerous dividends of democracy to the electorates. He is the second person in the political history of the seat that wins reelection, his experiences of the legislative works for more than a decade is a proof that he always wins elections on the basis of his performance, as against the saying he is always riding behind a popular candidate to win, hence his rising from the state assembly member to the house of representative and now in the Senate.
The irony of all is, instead of the writer to dwell much on issues that has to do with the yearnings and aspirations of the people, as patriotic as he want us to believe, he give much emphasis by trying to deodorized his paper-tiger political paymaster, who was still in pain and shock as a result of his defeat by the senator in the 2018 bye election where he was woefully with a wide margin. The writer also easily forgot to remember that the 2019 senatorial election was contested between distinguish Senator Lawal Yahaya Gumau of APC and Hon.Garba Dahiru of PDP, not a political looser who is still licking the pain of his actions and inactions.
Democratic system of government the world over gave room for people to hold an opinions and the expression of same, the system accommodate opposition and regarded it with all its importance, it is in fact an alienable rights to every human being to hold different political opinion with others, the right of expression of views serves a checkmating tools in the hands of the electorates to make leaders accountable and answerable and to act in accordance with the law and in the end provide good governance in relation with the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens, but in our own clime, the reverse is the case.

- Construction and renovation of a number of motorized and solar borehole across the seven local governments of the senatorial district.
- Completion of water works at Unguwar Bauchi,Bauchi local government.
- Completion of Mosques construction in different communities and provision of generators and loudspeakers systems in all the seven local governments of the senatorial district.
- Counterpart funding of construction of health facilities with some NGOs in some communities in the senatorial district.
- Plan is under way for securing employment slots in the Nigerian Customs service, Nigerian Police and the Nigerian Army for the teeming applicants.
Distinguish senator Lawal Yahaya Gumau was born in Gumau, Toro local government of Bauchi state in 1968,attended Islamiyya and Qur’anic school under the good care of his father before joining the public school, he also attended Sanga Primary school, Government secondary school Gumau,Bauchi state polytechnic Bauchi and University of Maiduguri where he graduated with a Bsc in Accounting.
Before joining politics, senator Gumau worked with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria and University of Abuja.
Senator Gumau is the chairman federal medical centre Yola.
