You Are Rascals, Federal Medical Lab School Provost Tells Plateau youths

A group the Plateau Youths larger House has been accused of being rascal for demanding the removal of the provost federal school of medical laboratory’ Jos, Dr Sunday Nkereuwe Etukudoh.

The aggrieved youth group led by its chief Makwal George Michael registered their protest on Friday at the Old University Teaching Hospital as they decried noncompliance to federal character by the provost.

He accused the Provost, Prof. Sunday Etokodoh of lopsided recruitment of indigents of Akwa Ibom state as they said Senior and Junior officers are from his own Local Government in Abak.

Dr Sunday Etukodoh was appointed in 2005 on acting capacity and the federal confirmed his appointment in 2008 till date, he explained.

Michael lamented that the college has over 100 students with over 300 staff with only 2 indigent of plateau.

Findings by our correspondent, the federal school of medical laboratory was established since 1978 but still operating at the temporary site which is not conducive for learning.

“We are not against the physical development of the college but soliciting the cooperation of federal government to move the college to its permanent site because of the security challenges facing them were 10 students died in the last bomb blast in Jos”.

“We encourage outsiders to come and developed the state to its enviable position but condemn the recent accusation and cheap blackmail from provost”.

The youth leaders vowed that they would not vacate the premises of the college unless the provost is being removed; “he accused us of being rascals, vandals, Plateau youth are known for their peaceful nature, he said.

He added that they youth leadership has been making effort to contact the provost but he remained adamant to their invitation.

However efforts to reach the provost proved abortive as his security couldn’t allow press men inside the premises.
