Rainstorm Destroys Properties Worth Millions Of Naira In Jigawa

Rainstorm destroyed over three hundred houses in Jigawa as over many persons were rendered homeless

When contacting the governor’s Media aide Alhaji Belloahammed Zaki said the rain fall destroyed houses in the state capital and other places like Hadejia, Gumel and other Local Government Areas.

Adding that there were no loss of lives but properties worth millions of naira were destroyed as a result of the rainstorm.

He explained that the problem occurs due to blockage of drainage and as people dumps refuse inside drainage thereby blocking the drainage.

One of the victims in the state capital Alhaji Ibrahim Alawo said the water stormed his house near old government house and destroyed all his belonging including two bags of rice Semovita and other food items.

In Hadejia due to nature of their houses over three hundred houses were destroyed and people are taking shelters in government building.
