Provost College Of Agriculture Lafia Hails Governor Sule For The Employment Of 293 Staff

The Provost College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia, Dr. Yahaya Maikafi has lauded the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullah Sule for the employment of 293 staff.

He gave the hint during the 35-42nd combined convocation ceremony of the College of Agriculture Science and Technology Lafia.

He in addition averred that the massive employment will add value to the academic excellence of the College.

Dr. Maikaffi said the institution graduates a total of 5,631 in its eight years of combined convocation.

“The relentless effort of Governor Abdullah Sule makes us where we are”.

The  Provost ailed the executive secretary, of the National Board for Technical Education, Professor Idris Bugaje for the support given to the institution.

Dr.Maikafi also commended Professor Ahmed Sharubutu  of the National Institute for Agriculture for his immense support.

He also applauded the holistic effort of parents and guardians alike for the support given to their children and wards.

Saying the College has come to stardom, created in 1977 through edict number 13 in the defunct Plateau State.

Stating that the College has redefined its five years plan to produce science-based and technical knowledge for self-reliance

Maikafi College introduced Nine additional courses ranging from mechanical engineering, computer science ,and others for re-accreditation of new courses.

The provost applauded the Governor for the implementation of pending promotions, pleading with him to consider the plight of retired staff of the College.

Engineer Haruna Sani Maiwalima the Executive Vice Chairman of Naseni, Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Senator representing Nasarawa South senatorial zone Dr. Dominic Bako, D.G, Nasarawa State Bureau for Public Procurement as well the Emir of Lafia, retired Justice Sidi Bage, the Chairman, Council of Chiefs are the four distinguished personalities that were awarded fellowship awards.

The Chairman Council of Chiefs, Nasarawa State, Justice Sidi Bage (retired) commended the Governor and appealed to the incumbent administration to accord impetus to COAST, which he described as one of the backward tertiary institutions in the State.
