Properties Worth Millions Of Naira Saved Last Year By Jigawa Fire Service-Director

Properties work millions of naira were destroyed by several fire outbreaks last year in Jigawa and million naira properties were also saved from fire incident as of the last year 2020.

 

The Director of Fire Service Jigawa State Malam Haruna Aliyu who confirmed the story said as last year they received 467 fire calls from various locations in the state and saved 531 lives in different fire outbreaks in the state.

 

The Director added that the state fire service was able to saved properties valued and estimated to worth N232 million.

 

He called on the general public to be extra careful while using fire especially at this period of harmattan.

 

At the same time, he advised the state government to create access roads in all the markets in the state in case of any further fire outbreak in the market, so that they can have accessibility to reach out where the problem is and maybe be able to save it time.

 

He explained that most time lack of accessibility to reach the house or shop where the fire incident occurred creates a problem for their staff while trying to reach out to stop the fire in time.

 

He also charged people to always off their gadgets after using or while going to bed to avoid the occurrence of night fire outbreaks.

 

The director also advised those using firewoods in the rural area to make sure they pour water on fire after usage and at the same time, he called on the coal users and gas users to apply the same method so that life could be saved.
