Yakubu Busari

The Ambassador of Nigeria to Russia, Prof. Abdullahi Yibaikwal has appealed to  Nigerians to remain calm that the current insecurity and economic challenges in the country are a fallout of global insecurity.

He disclosed that citizens are currently going through a dwindling economic situation at the moment due to global problems which made life very difficult for everyone.

According to him, when people are having high expectations from their government and it could not be met to their satisfaction, they resort to condemnation from their government is just too high, this is large because the resources can’t achieve anything.

He called on the  Dengi Old Students Association in Plateau state to give their overwhelming support to any of their members that are interested to contest any position in the 2023 General election.

Prof Abdullahi also advised members not to allow any conflict or internal crisis to destroy the unity of the Dengi Old Boys but task them to work as one family and resolve their differences amicably without the second party involved.

He gave the advice during the Old Students Association 2022 Annual Convention held at the Crispan Hotel in Jos, Plateau state in an exclusive interview.

The National President of DOSA, Ambassador Yibaikwal who doubled as the Ambassador of Nigeria to Russia advised members to see fellow members as family and should be willing to offer helping hands when a colleague is in dire need.

The National president stressed that the major aim of this annual convention of the association is to brainstorm on the issues that are affecting the association, members, and the projects being carried out.

And revealed that the next Year 2023, the school will be 50 years since its establishment, promised that during that time they shall roll out the drums for its Celebration, while many programs relating to the school shall be unveiled. He maintained.

But quick to add that he is not saying the government on their part has done perfectly well, no, but the Government is aware of their lapses, appealed to all to be patient with the government to do what is right to the Electorates.

On the issue of the falling standard of education in Nigeria, compared to other African countries, the Ambassador said the Buhari government is trying its best compared to the resources at his disposal.
