Prof Opara List Five Key Areas Of Focus, Promises To Work Together With Congregation As VC Of Dominican University

The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Dominican University Ibadan, Professor Jacinta Opara has pledged to work together with the congregation of the institution which includes the Principal Officers, Faculty, Departmental Staff, Students, and Alumni in a bid to lift the school high.

In her speech she said; “It is with great honour and a deep sense of responsibility that I stand before you today as the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of this esteemed institution. I am profoundly grateful for the trust and confidence placed on me to lead our university into its next chapter of growth and excellence. “

According to Prof. Opara she hinted thus; “Our university has a proud history of academic achievement, innovative research, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment. As we move forward together, I am excited to build on this strong foundation, to address the challenges and seize the opportunities that lie ahead. “

Speaking further she enumerated what ii is expected of her in different aspects as pilot the affairs of the university, they include;

Vision and Goals My vision for our university is to create a nurturing environment where every member of our community feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

We will strive to enhance our academic programs, promote interdisciplinary research, and strengthen our ties with industry, government, and the global community.

Academic Excellence To our esteemed faculty, your dedication to teaching, research, and service is the bedrock of our institution. I pledge to support your efforts in creating and disseminating knowledge, fostering innovation, and mentoring the next generation of leaders.

We will prioritize initiatives that enhance teaching excellence, promote research that addresses pressing global issues, and support professional development opportunities for our academic staff.
