The Executive Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area, Hon. Pirfa Jingfa Tyem, has described the first female professor of premier of Northern Nigeria as the best educator that impacted positively in the lives of many and a mother to motherless in her quest to build and promoting democracy in Africa and God fearing mother .
The Professor /Mrs Mary Lar clocked the ripe age of 90th with the celebration kick starting with a Thanksgiving church service held at church of Christ in Nations ,COCIN,headquarters on Sunday.
However, the grand birthday event thanksgiving service and book launched at suji suite , attracted family friends ,former Governors , dignitaries, and well-wishers across the country, all gathered to honour the wife of the first civilian governor of Plateau State and first pioneering Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP, Late Solomon Daushep Lar .statesman and father of Nigeria democracy.
Hon.Tyem stressed the need for peaceful coexistence amongst the people of Plateau state and he assured that security has been beef up in Langtang North LGA .
He sued for political understanding as the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang is working hard to provide dividends of democracy to teeming populace .
According , Hon. Tyem , he lauded the Plateau state delegates for the just-concluded North Central Congress of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as the successfully completed a hitch free exercise .
He stated that the exercise was satisfactory were only the position Vice Chairman of the zone was kneeling contested but all other seats were best on consensus agreement between the zone to pave way for smooth ride ahead of the 2027 general election.
He disclosed that the peaceful conduct exhibited by the PDP is a confirmation that the party would bounce back to power to salvage Nigerian from bad governance.
“This shows that PDP remains a united and strong party,” he added.
The chairman debunked social media rumour circulating distorted information on the recent rainstorms affecting some communities in Langtang North LGA
However ,in their political misleading commenced that the council distributed two sheet of zinc and single plywood board to victims of the recent windstorms in Langtang North.
Hon. Tyem explained further that the data captured approximately 500 households victims of the rainstorms and best on their list the local government prepared relief materials ranging from zincs,woods as the primary focus.
“Unfortunately, when the distribution team arrived, more people turn out and many pleaded to be consider as well. As a result, the materials originally meant for 500 people had to be reduce not two plates to the victims,” he said.
He further clarified that the plywood sheets distributed were provided by a partnering agency, and although the number was limited, beneficiaries opted to receive even one sheet each, rather than be excluding them.
Hon. Tyem urged residents to remain patient that the council is working out remedy towards cushioning the effect of the situation .
The Chairman praised the enduring legacy of Mrs Lar family and his continue commitment to the leadership of the local government in building love and understanding .
