President Of NULGE Congratulates Women Wing For Educating Grassroots Women On Violence, Rape

The National President of   Local Government Employees (NULGE) comrade Ibrahim Khalid has congratulated women for positively organizing a hitch free program to encourage active participation rural women against the scourge of discrimination and rape towards improving their wellbeing.

 

 

The National President stated this during a two days sensitization program held at Zawan ,in Jos South Local Government Council  hall ,plateau state represented by  comrade Shamdung Ayuba

 

Comrade Ibrahim Khalid commended the women wing of (NULGE)in the state for their efforts in mobilizing women at the grassroots to stand up against discrimination in work place , rape ,  violence against women and other vices.

 

According to him, the aim of mobilizing women across the 17 LGAs was to enlighten them on the danger of discrimination, violence and traumatic experience women went through and are dying in silence.

 

Khalil’s frowned at the stigmatization, harassment women are going through in sub-Saharan Africa especially during crisis and traumatic some of them faced.

 

 

The president commendation was made during the 2020 international day celebration employing women to report any act of discrimination, melted on them.

 

Khalid expressed satisfaction with the turned out of participants from all the local government in the state as they have stand out as a model to be emulated by other women working in the local government considering their proximity to the grassroots.

 

 

 

Speaking on the theme “l am Generation Equality , Realizing Women’s Rights,  Mrs. Comfort Bulus called on government and private organisation to provide funds for women in order to promote entrepreneurship and financial independence.

 

 

Meanwhile, Ayuba Shamdung also condoled with Mupun Nation of Pankshin south LGA of Plateau state over the demises of an educationist and frontline politician professor Dakun Shown.

 

 

 

The late one time speaker of the plateau state House of Assembly was an elder stateman whose contribution led to the restoration of democracy in plateau state, and Nigeria as a whole cannot be forgotten.

 

 

Shamdung Ayuba stated this in a press statement personally signed by him and made available to this medium in Jos the plateau state capital.

 

 

 

He recalled the role played by the late one time speaker of the state over the creation of secondary schools and cottage hospital in the state during his tenure as the speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly.

 

 

Shamdung prayed God to grant the late professor Dakun Shown eternal rest and the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
