Political Crisis Hits Kanam LGA As Council Boss Bani Goes Berserk, Orders The Arrest Of APC Executives From Dengi

Political rumble is currently on in Kanam Local Government Council of Plateau state as universalreporters247.com learnt that the new Management committee Chairman of Kanam on Monday ordered his political thugs to assault executives of Dengi constituency over alleged Sallah gifts.

Universalreporters247.com learnt that information available to the Party executives from Dengi constituency executives indicated that the Chairman budgeted some money for Sallah gifts for the party executives in the Local Government, and as party executives they went to the chairman to find out why few days to Sallah celebration no news of the money released for the Sallah has gotten to them.

As gathered some of the executives went the Chairman office to know what is truly happening and as a result one of the boys around the chairman came out with a cutlass and this created confusion.

Universalreporters247.com learnt that this created pandemonium and as a result the chairman ordered for the detention of the seven executive members at the Divisional Police station in Kanam.

Other complaints from the executives is that the chairman since assumption of office about a month ago has not sat with the councilors, the party officials also sought to have audience with him and find out what is the true situation of him yet to report to office since he was appointed.

As learnt that the chairman, Hon Hamidu Hudu Bani absence from office since he was sworn-in has continued to generate public opinion which led the executives to summon him for an interactive session and dialogue with him which ended up in a deadlock.

It was also gathered that one of his aide turned violent during the secret meeting held behind close door to find a solution to the crisis.

Those arrested include ; Baba Abasiya, Elder Ibrahim Gamu, Secretary Dengi ward, Sule Nuhu, organising Sec APC Kanam LGA, Yau Madaki ,organising Sec Dengi ward, Kande Dio, woman’s Leader Dengi, Isa Babba Chairman,Aisha Bala Sabo, women Leader APC Kanam LGA.

The Plateau State Deputy Speaker also confirmed the incident to our correspondent in a telephone interview but said the details are yet to be made clear to him.

He promised peaceful resolution with the aggrieve executives for peace to reign in Kanam LGA, stressing the need for party to address internal wrangling.

Hon Yipmong called on the people of Dengi constituency including the executives to remain calm that government will investigate the major cause of the crisis and ensure that law and order is maintained.

Meanwhile, efforts to speak with the State Police Public Relation officer were abortive as he didn’t answer calls made to his phone.
