Police, Nasarawa People Differ On Alleged Explosion In The State

Mixed feelings have continued to trail the alleged explosion that took place in Lafia the Nasarawa State Capital two days ago. There has been panic in the minds of the residence of Lafia and its environs.

Though there have been divergent reactions following the statement made by the Police Public Relation Officer, the general public especially people of Nasarawa Eggon which is some twenty six kilometers away from the state capital and people of Doma which are twenty four kilometres away Lafia gave contrary revelations on the heavy sound that was heard in neighboring Jenkwe in Obi Local Government.

Two days after the occurrence the public are left in the dark as people have continued to imagine how can neighboring towns had the sound that pelted the air, while the   Police Command debunked the bomb  explosion to quell the fear in the minds of people, the general populace refuses to believe their Command’s story.

The Nasarawa state Police Commissioner has debunked the rumour peddling over the alleged bomb explosion in the state capital on (Thursday), the Command Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Numan gave the hint in Lafia while addressing Newsmen.

The Force spokesman buttressed that the explosion was from a Tyre that got burst from a moving trailer and not a bomb.

However, this explanation from the Police Command didn’t go down well with the people who never believed the story of the Police Command.

Meanwhile the Police has called on the public to be mindful of their utterances especially during this critical security challenges as well as shun rumours that may create tension.

This is the second time such sound occurred in the state capital , as at the time of filling this report, there has not been any report of casualty or destruction of house by the sound.
