Police In Nasarawa Arrest 360 Persons, Impounds 4 Cars, 217 Motorcycles, 90 Tricycles

The Police in Nasarawa State have arrested 360 persons violating the movement of people, which was a major taken to curb the spread of COVID-19.

 

The Police Public Relations Officer, Nansel Ramlan has confirmed the arrest across the State.

 

He said Karu the gateway has the highest number of 231 persons followed by Lafia, the State capital with a total of 116 nabbed by the Police.

 

He explained that 23 were arrested across the remaining Local Governments of the State.

 

The PPRO uncovered that a total of 217 motorcycles and 90 tricycles were also impounded.

 

Further investigation revealed that few police checkpoints were seen in the State capital, at precisely 8:30pm our Correspondent can authoritatively affirmed that majority of the check points are mostly vigilante stationed at various points.

 

A senior Police officer revealed that the State Command is lacking of officers.
