Plateau United Football Club Sacks Technical Adviser

The Management of Plateau United Football Club of Jos on Monday sacked the Technical Adviser of the club, Zakary Baraje.

In a Press statement signed by the media officer of the club,  Mr Albert Dakup and made available to newsmen  in Jos stated that the decision became necessary in view of the dwindling performance of the team.

The statement further stated that as “an ambitious team determined to make a good impression in the NPFL, management noted with concern recent performance as unacceptable.”

“The club observed a communication gap between the technical adviser with his assistants and the players which is affecting the success of the team.”

It also  reads that ” Management lamented that despite the free hand given to the technical adviser, he has not being able to justify the huge confidence reposed on him by turning the fortunes of the team around to compete favorably with its counterparts in the top flight ”

The statement further reads that ” “With this development former captain of the team Victor Wickadason who only returned to the main team recently after several years in the feeder team is to take over as head of the technical crew, Coach Wickadason is to be assisted by Audu Isa Pele, Moris Longmiap and Tunde Adedara goal trainer”.

Plateau United are presently fourteen on the League table with twenty-two (22) points from seventeen matches

Meanwhile the club has warned a group known as football stakeholders, who are causing serious disaffection in the team, which they said is capable derailing the performance of the team in the Nigeria professional football League NPFL

The statement warned the group that management of the team will not fold its arms and watch them sabotage its good intentions of establishing the team as a formidable force in the top flight of Nigerian football.
