Plateau National And State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal On Naanlong , Krinbut Petition Resumes Today

The National and State Assembly Election Tribunal sitting on a petition filed by Hon Theophilus N Krinbut ,People Democratic Party ,PDP challenging Hon Daniel Jonathan Naanlong of the All Progressive Congress, APC ,has adjourned to 19th July, 2019 for continuation of hearing .

 

The petitioners on Monday  at High Court 3 Jos opened their case by   tendering of  13th documents and called four witnessed and promised to end with additional five to close their case .

 

Theophilus was the candidate of  PDP and now approaching the Tribunal   challenging the declaration of Hon Jonathan Daniel Naanlong of the All Progressive Congress ,APC ,as the winner of February House Assembly election in Mikang state constituency of Plateau state .

 

The petitioners alleged over voting ,irregularities ,non use of card readers and alterations of results by the INEC presiding officers while been cross examining by the respondents .

 

When case filed was called ,counsel to petitioners ,J.M OKafor tendered the 13 documents and subject to objections of the documents by the respondents in their final addresses were admitted in evidence .

8 A duplicate copies of EC8E(1) for Mikang ste constituency .

All documents were mark as exhibits P1~P13 respectively .

 

Therefore the petitioners called four witnessed namely ,Pelang Caleb Zeryep (PW1,Amos Danladi Nishi PW2,Warka Donatus (PW3) and Silvanus Kwanpan (PW4)

 

All the witnesses testified on documents bordering on over voting and mutilation of results and were equally cross examining by counsels to the respondents .

The petition was adjourned to July 19th-20th  of 2019 for continuation of hearing .
