Plateau Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board Debunks Arrest Of Management Staff In Jeddah, Saudi Arabia With Drugs

The Executive Secretary of Plateau State Muslims Pilgrim Welfare Board,Hon Daiyabu Dauda has debunked reports that the 2024, state-contingent wasn’t involved in drug peddling as ascribed in social media.

Yasir Isma’il Yahaya Information Officer” made this confirmation in a statement to Journalists in Jos condemning that the information is not true and is the handwork of mischief makers to tarnish the good reputation of the Executive Secretary, Hon. Daiyabu Dauda .

According to him ” the board’s attention was drawn to a rebuttal false report that “Drugs: An official of Plateau Pilgrims Board, Murtala Magaji, arrested in Jeddah Airport”.

We have been made aware of a circulating report with the caption “Drugs: An Official of Plateau Pilgrims Board arrested in Jeddah Airport”.

We wish to clarify that this report is entirely misleading and untrue.

For the record, all officials of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board are safe and accounted for, with no one arrested at Jeddah Airport.

Our officials and pilgrims are law-abiding citizens who are fully aware of the strict laws in Saudi Arabia, including the severe penalties for drug-related offenses.

We assure the public that we are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our officials and pilgrims.

PSMPWB Despels that the rumour peddling was a plan by the opposition to mislead the general public on Governor Caleb Mutfwang tremendous achievement in one year.

“The Plateau State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board issued a statement dismissing rumors of an official arrest.

According to the board’s information officer,  no such incident has occurred involving any official or intending pilgrim.

The statement confirmed that all officials and pilgrims from Plateau State are currently in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, performing their religious obligations.

The board urged the public, especially journalists, to fact-check their reports and verify information with the commission for clarity.

Additionally, the board congratulated the Plateau State government and Governor Caleb Mutfang on his one-year anniversary in office, praising the state’s progress under his leadership and good governance.”

He also explained further that, if the Saudi kingdom caught anyone with hard drugs the penalty would be a death sentence, and there would be no amount of begging that would make them change the punishment as ascribed in Saudi Arabia’s constitution.
