Plateau Governorship Tribunal Sets Thursday To Commence Prehearing , Inaugural Session

The Governorship Election Tribunal sitting in Plateau State on Tuesday has adjourned its preparing to the 25th of May, 2023 to enable the counsels, and litigants to complete all the filing processes.

“You would recall that the Tribunal adjourned to the 23rd of the May, 2023 for inaugural and prehearing as scheduled by the 3 man panel.

The Chairman of the Election Tribunal in Plateau State; Honourable Justice R. Irele-ifineh, Hon. Justice Sunday Olorundahunsi and Hon. Justice A .Y. John disclosed that the aim of the Election Tribunal is to give the opportunity to those aggrieved politicians to ventilate their grievances and anger.

She described the election Tribunal as the last hope of the common man where it would dispense Justice without being biased to parties involved in the process.

Justice Irele-ifineh promised the litigants of the Tribunal readiness to deliver Justice in favour of any party that proves its case without any doubt as warn counsels to cooperate with the Tribunal to speedy dispensation of justice for all!

According to the Honourable Justice Irele-ifineh, “we advise counsels to avoid technicalities as we promise that the Tribunal is time bound, because after this assignment, posterity will judge us all as members of the temple of justice”.

The petitioner counsel ,Barr.Kayode Olatoke ,SAN, who spoke on behalf of senior advocate of Nigeria ,Bar , assured the Tribunal that they are all ready to cooperate with them for quick delivery of justice to all parties .

He urged the Tribunal to ensure that they deliver justice but promised that they’re ready to support members of jurists in achieving success at the end of it sittings. “we bring to the notice of this Honourable Tribunal how we are all ready to fast track and tender all evidences for examination and cross examinations after we adopted our answers”, they Judge stated.

He says, “We wish to file, we will still go on in accordance with section 65 of the electoral act which some of the answers have not been filled so we urge the Tribunal to adjourn till Thursday”.

Barr. Ibrahim Bawa, SAN, stated that the Tribunal couldn’t sit today owing to the fact that most of the to cases were not mentioned because the real prehearing session is yet to commence so all counsels agreed to adjourn the suit till Thursday, 25th May 2023.

He maintained that all applications will be taken to ease speedy dispensation of the Election Tribunal, which is; they will be ready to help the Tribunal serve justice to all!

Bawa said; “everyone goes to court to not just loss but get justice,” he assured the supply of landslide victory at the Tribunal to reclaim back stolen mandates.
