Plateau state High Court sitting in Jos has commenced hearing into the suit challenging the suspension of Financial Secretary, Alh Awalu Garba and the Deputy treasurer, Alh Maikudi Ibrahim.
The Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Plateau state chapter have been rocked by crisis involving money laundering of the union to the total of 47 million naira over chieftaincy title of the National President in Gusau .
In the suit counsel to Alh Awalu Garba ,Maikudi ,Bar. E.I. Suleiman said the matter was slated for hearing but the defense counsel, Bar Nantok Daswar this early morning served him with preliminary objections on three counts which is scheduled for argument on 4th Oct,2016.
The plaintiff counsel, Suleiman told the court that his clients fundamental human right was bridge by defendants which is contain in his brief ..
He said the matter was brought before court to determine whether their suspension was done according to law .
However, the stresses that the defendants failed to consult the union members on issuance of driving license by FRSC and been extra vegan the funds in their possession.
The NURTW factional group registered their displeasure by challenging the state chairman Alh Yushau Mohammed .
Responding to the allegations libel against him ,the state Nigerian Union Road Transport Worker (NURTW) explained that the matter. Is a family affairs .
He advised the two suspended members to withdraw the case pleading that they should settle out of court because we are ready to dialogue with them.
According to him, this is a matter that can be resolve within us for the progress of the union in the state.
Justice’s Arum Ashom has adjourned the case to 4th Oct,2016 for hearing into the preliminary objections .
