Following the defection of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Ayuba Abok on Tuesday the members declared the seat of the member representing Jos East constituency vacant.
The declaration was made on the floor of the house when a decision during a plenary was taken in the hallowed chamber of the old Government house Jos and presided over by the Speaker, Rt.Hon Yakubu Sanda .
The Speaker also declared the Rukuba/Irigwe constituency seat vacant following the former member Hon Musa Agah,s Victory at the recent Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency bye-election.
It could be recalled that the former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly Abok Nuhu Ayuba, last weekend decamped from the All Progressives Congress APC to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A statement signed by Itse Samuel Kaze, Media Assistant to Abok Nuhu Ayuba, reads that Ayuba, on March 18th, officially tended his letter of resignation from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), while presenting a letter of intent, seeking to return to his earlier party, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at the party’s Local Government Secretariat in Angware, Jos East.
The House decision had degenerated into crises in Plateau State as an effort to reach the embattled Former speaker prove abortive.
