The Plateau All Progressive Congress, APC, has blasted People Democratic Party PDP, for their reckless theatrics statement bordering on criminal libel purporting the illegal production of electoral materials for the purpose of rigging the electoral process in the coming elections.
In a statement made available to journalists in Jos, Plateau state frowned at the latest effort by the PDP preempting its imminent defeat at the polls by sounding another false alarm in order to mislead the public on why it will lose the elections.
According to the statement ,”owing to the criminal nature of the allegations, especially the undisguised public instigation to mob violence against responsible corporate player in the economy, a major employer of labour owned by a proud indigene of the state who has the capacity to seek legal redress for the wanton injury to his corporate interest”.
We would have totally refrained from a response but for the obvious inference to our great party, the All Progressive Congress (APC).
We understand the desperation of the PDP to justify its imminent thrashing at another polls within four years but we are totally disgusted at the low to which it wants to drag our state.
Fauntier said PDP resort to cheap propaganda built on mischief, misinformation and deception are so pedestrian as to be obvious to all enlightened persons but the gullible half-baked illiterates they manufactured all their years in government who now proliferate both the physical and virtual environment of the state.
For example, anyone conversant with the computerization and networking technology will know that a mere show-your-PVC campaign, aimed at creating public awareness and positive action, would be likened to a PVC cloning exercise.
This reveals an unexceptional level of idiocy in the public space. Other references in the same manner are sheer laughable ignorance, falsehood or double-talk to mislead public opinion; PDP, given its antecedent, would not understand how odious it is for a ranking judicial officer, for example, to conceal humongous stash of suspicious monies in private bank accounts but to any civilized being it’s an outrage warranting the strongest condemnation.
In the APC dispensation we owe nobody any apology to use our anti-corruption broom to sweep away such ignoble public officers, and we are proud we have done so.
We wonder when it will sink in the hard skull of the PDP that Nigerians are sick and tired of corruption.
We wish to assure the PDP that we are resolved to go into the elections in the spirit of a free and fair polls. Any postulations to the contrary is an outcome of fevered imaginations; the premonition of defeat.
Without prejudice to any action the entrepreneur whose enterprises has been so recklessly maligned and exposed to hateful violence may take, we join the teeming peaceful people of Plateau State to condemn the statement.
We recall that similar allegations were made against the company by same shameless characters in the run up for the 2015 elections, leading to an investigation which proved nothing.
That these baseless allegations are surfacing again suggests that either the PDP or some characters within it have some personal vendetta against the proprietor. This is typical of the envious small-minded pseudo-politicians in the opposition whose entire political careerism is built on the pull-him-down (PhD) syndrome.
Finally, we wish to again reiterate that our party in Plateau State stands for peaceful, free and fair elections. No amount of blackmail will provoke us to depart from this noble path we have chosen. We plead with PDP to man up and engage in decent electioneering campaigns. Crying wolf at every twist and turn in the electoral contest is cowardly and defeatist.
