Following the current Nigerian Police mantra of “See something, say something” mainly from the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Galadanchi Dasuki, to the people of Imo State to tighten up their securities especially as the 2018 Christmas festival draws near, the police command has continued to record breakthroughs in the combat against crime and criminalities within the state.

According to the Imo Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Chief Orlando Ikeokwu, during a media chat with journalists at the Owerri State Command Headquarters, he disclosed that on 20th Nov.2018,one Chief Stanley Anoruo, and Oluchi Nnodim, both from Orodo in Mbaitolu LGA of Imo State, while returning from a function at Umuagwo in Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State, were attacked, bullied and kidnapped on the road around Mgbirichi area of Ohaji by one Amaechi Akum,32 years and his cohort, David Amuzie aka Paper Money, 29 years, both from Umuowa Obiti in Ohaji area, were arrested through the efforts of the Joint Military/Police.

Chief Orlando while giving information to the media, said the suspected kidnappers (Mr. Paper Money and his cohorts, Amaechi) has confessed to their crime.

The PPRO said the victims got several injuries from the suspected kidnappers who took them to an unknown custody and hid them until they were rescued by the operatives of the police.

He, therefore, stated that investigations are still ongoing, even as he called on all the hoodlums operating in the state relocate to another state as Imo State would no longer be comfortable with evildoers.
