President Goodluck Jonathan has been commended for not sidelining the people of the South East from his administration.
This remark was made by the immediate past Minister of Interior Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho at a political rally held recently by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Owerri.
The former minister who trilled the crowd at the event with his Owere dialect also berated Governor Rochas Okorocha for abandoning APGA after using the party’s platform to win election during the 2011 governorship elections in Imo State saying that the next governor of the state would be a trusted and more experienced person.

‘After using APGA to gain electoral victory in 2011, Governor Okorocha declared APGA dead in Imo State. But with the crowd in this rally today, one can see that APGA is not dead in the state but stronger…’. However, the next governor of Imo State come 2015 shall be an honest, respectful and experienced man whose track record unequivocally stands out…’.
In his own speech, the National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh, recounted how he and the party toiled day and night to ensure Governor Okorocha’s victory during the 2011 elections. He however said that in 2015 general elections, that the party would produce a true Igbo man as the Imo State governor whom he said would not abandon the agenda of the party and the people to pursue personal agenda.

Chief Umeh also used the opportunity to formally present the Immediate past Pro-Chancellor of the Imo State University Chief Clement Owunna who defected to the party from APC recently.
Earlier in the occasion, some other aspirants to various positions in Imo state were also given the opportunity to talk to address the crowd.

Many people attended the rally including the Governor of Anambra State Mr. Willie Obiano, Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly Princess Chinwe Nwaebili and Member Representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Mr. Victor Afam Ogene. Others were the Member Representing Mbaitoli State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assemble, Hon. Victor Ndunagu and his colleagues from Owerri North Engr. Dan Ikpeazu, Barr. (Mrs) Eudora Igwe of Ideato North and Dr. Victor Mere of Owerri Municipal.
