Permanent Secretary Challenges Medical Practitioners To Reposition The Health Sector For Better Service

The permanent secretary of ministry of Health, Plateau state, Pharm Abel Gwantau has challenged the professional practitioners in field of medical and pharmaceutical society to reposition the sector to improve health care delivery of the rural and urban health needs of the people.

The permanent secretary, reiterated readiness to partner with the pharmaceutical association of Nigeria to reduce medical tourism abroad and boost local production of locally made drugs.

Gwantau gave this assurance at the Hill station Hotel during the 2016 Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria five day workshop in Jos.

He emphasized the need for doctors and pharmacists to partner together toward the prescription of paper or computer drug to patients to make the job easier for the nurses.

Pharm Abel gwatau urged those into full practice to use the opportunity and upgrade their capacity to proffer solution to the current challenges of diseases.

He stressed that Nigerian were haven local industries to produce for our consumption but the past government policy hamper the progress of the local industries.

Gwantau commended the federal government program of revamping the moribund to create employment opportunity to our teaming youth in the country.

He said a lot of work has been done in the medical industries in Nigeria to reduce issue of quackery and bring about sanity to the health care delivery.

Perm SEC noted that very soon the policy in place will boost the medical needs of the citizenry and improve the well-being through qualitative health need.
