Honorable Engr.Yahaya Wada, the immediate past Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport has given a shocking revelation surrounding the Farin Ruwa Hydro Electric Power Project initiated by the first executive Governor of the state elected under aegis of the People’s Democratic Party as a conduit pipe meant to drain tax-payers money.
He stated this while reacting on the recent statement of former member Federal House representative representing Keffi, Kokona, Karu ,Aliyu Wadada who described the ongoing cargo international airport as a white elephant project conceived by Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
Engr. Yahaya Wada who is now a Special Adviser to the Governor described the PDP twelve years of Governance as wasted years with nothing to show for, he further said the multi-billion naira Hydro Electric Power Project was a conduit pipe used by the PDP, Stating that the HEPP project was agreed at the tune of N5.4bn.
“One hundred percent of the fund for project was paid and later it was raised to N5.8bn with the sole aim of generating 20megawatts of power, adding that the second elected Governor, Aliyu Akwe Doma also rigmaroled over the wasteful venture in the name of power generation”,
Imagine, Wadada saying Governor Al-Makura’s present administration in the state lack policy direction, he further said the statement was a mere allegation or the former federal lawmaker has lost grip of happening in his state, Engr Wada while given vivid detaild of the state of affairs from the inception of the current Government described the APC as a humane and people oriented regime.
The Special Adviser while going back memory lane opined that all the tertiary institutions lost their status , he however maintained that all the tertiary institutions are on strike when Governor Al-Makura ousted the sitting Governor, our first effort was to set up visitation panels by putting the wrongs right.
“Many of those tertiary institutions award uncertified certificates until Governor Al-Makura addresses the loopholes, the former commissioner affirmed that the board of directors were constituted, more hostels built while convocations and backlogs of convocations were held.

“Our debt profile which stood at N40bn was cleared, as he said that they collected local debt of N5bn with nothing to show for, all the negative perceptions are the weak point of PDP regime in twelve years.
Commenting on the ongoing cargo International airport, Wada said the project if completed will open new vista of employment among the teeming youths, He stressed that airport would add value to the socio-economic activities of the state, “As for Wadada he is looking at the airport project with a myopic eye, though while we in the Government especially people with vast knowledge of engineering are looking at the project in a diversified way.
Other good thing about the airport project is that the state Government would construct 120Km road from the airport to the nation’s capital, Abuja, other benefits of the project to the state, According to him also include revenue drive, wooing of investors to the state, as well as serve as an alternative to other existing cargo airports, he added.
