According to him, VGN is the only security outfit that can handle problems associated with insecurity in our villages and they are well organized so they need to be given more moral support to reduce the crime rate.

He frowned at situations where the federal government spent a huge amount of money in buying expensive weapons those terrorists, those criminals these are the only people that can deal with them in their hideout.

Hon Joshua Laven emphasized that they recognized them by their name those of them who are going about fermenting trouble in local areas they identify them and where they’re coming from, they know how to declare manhunt on their hideouts.

He appealed to the Federal government is that “my concern now is paying attention to the vigilante group of Nigeria and the volunteers’ security outfits to assist in crime-fighting.

Ubandoma Laven disclosed that the training of VGN by the Nigeria Police is to serve as assistant to the security surveillance on intelligence gathering to dictate early warning signals with arms training also to guide them on the method of repelling bandits.

He stressed that after the rigorous training of this VGN they’re going to have enough experience on the insecurity, protection of lives and properties of citizens with the gallant officers cut across Plateau state to avoid accidental discharge which that would be minimized henceforth.

Laven maintained that they were trained in handling light weapons because they have the capacity, manpower to content those criminal elements in their hideout, we understood that these VGNs know the terrain better than anyone.

He said we want the citizens of Plateau state to sleep with their two eyes closed as the state patron I have been supporting them financially and morally so that they will understand very well that they are not alone. They should realize that we have people that are ready to support them.

Laven revealed that he have been given them the moral, financial help to boost their operation so I know their capacity, I know their worth and I  know all the look and cranny of Tarok land with the vigilante group of Nigeria we have to achieve total peace where we enroll them into monthly allowances because they are doing the best.

The State Commander, Mr. Nuhu Vongbut said there is about 2000 personnel were trained on security to prevent kidnapping, banditry, and Herders /Farmers clash and identify them and their hideout.

He said VGN focuses more on training and retraining of its members on weapons handling and recognizing early signs of foreigners, strange people by monitoring them.

We embark on capacity training to ensure that citizens of Nigeria can go about their normal businesses and the government needs to give free hand to traditional rules to achieve a crime-free society.

Vongbut reiterated that the local community policing network is what the Nigerian government needs to engage them in addressing incessant attacks, killing, and kidnapping.
