Christian Leaders in Gombe State on Thursday assured the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Sunday Congo, that his subjects are strongly in support of his leadership. According to the Secretary of CAN Gombe State, Snr Apostle John Adediba, Rev. Congo has been a very transparent, accountable, and humble leader

Snr Apostle John Adediba listed various developmental projects executed by the CAN chairman within a short time, which includes the befitting guest house built within 3 months, the ICT training Centre for the Christian youth in Gombe, and his effort towards building bridges across the state.

We are here to show our solidarity to Rev. Congo for such an outstanding achievement. Gone are the days for the chop I chop that has destroyed CAN in the past.

Yes, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, Hon. Minister of Communication and Digital Economy is our son from Gombe state, the CAN chairman is NOT wrong to congratulate him. We should encourage each other when the need arises.

According to the CAN Secretary,  “I must tell you that I have sampled the opinion of our executives and all our members. 99.9 percent of them are strongly behind you Rev. Congo. We don’t say things for selfish interest”.

Our people sent me to warn those desperate busy bodies lurking around to hijack CAN to stay clear. The issue of the letter to Dr. Pantami is an in-house issue that was collectively resolved.

On letter from the General Secretary of CAN; Where was the General Secretary of CAN when Christians are killing themselves in communal clashes in Gombe communities.

Where was CAN General Secretary when Dr. Isa Ali Pantami established an ICT center to train our Christian Youth in computer studies?

To but the least Dr. Pantami has always consulted CAN leadership in the state for the progress and unity of the good people of Gombe state.

Barr. Daramola, the General Secretary was influenced to issue a black market suspension letter without the consent of the national CAN Executives. Why would the General Secretary create unnecessary tension, he asked.

Those using Non-functional offices to dictate for CAN in Gombe should face their business. Has CAN National not congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019?

“We have decided to issue these press releases to advise the sycophants who perpetually want to remote control CAN for their personal benefits to staying Clear or we expose their dirty deals.

We pray for our CAN chairman today that he would be victorious in the face of these desperate moves to give CAN Gombe a bad name.”

Romans 12:18, 18 “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”

We will continue to do whatever we can for people to coexist together peacefully and in love with each other.

It would be recalled that the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) suspended the Caretaker Committee of Gombe’s chapter of the association over a congratulatory message to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami.

The letter of suspension came after the Caretaker Committee in Gombe State on 6th September, wrote a congratulatory message to the Minister on his promotion to the rank of Professor of Cyber Security at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

CAN in a letter signed by its General Secretary and addressed to the Gombe Caretaker Committee of the Association, said the congratulatory message to the Minister is tantamount to a unilateral decision.

“Following the recent publications of your congratulatory message to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, we write to inform you that your actions have generated a lot of concerns amongst members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

“This action of yours in publishing and release made on behalf of the Association is tantamount to a unilateral decision of you and overzealousness on your part, which was done without authorization and clearance. It is not only provocative but undermines the CAN NEC Executive. It does not in any way represent their position.

“In view of the above, you are hereby directed to relinquish your position in Gombe CAN Executive with immediate effect and hand over all CAN’s property to your next inline in your Bloc.

“In future, you are advised to consult and get approval from the Authority of CAN National Level so that we all may speak with one voice,” the letter noted
