Pandemonium In Jos, As A Bag Causes Panic At Gada-Biu Market

jos-on-map-of-nigeriaPandemonium broke out today at the Gada -biu market when a sack containing interior decoration equipments was mistaken to be an explosive devices were discovered, causing fear and panic.

Meanwhile, Anti-bomb squad detonated a bomb yesterday in Gada-biu Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state.

The Plateau state Police command has confirmed that a sack contains equipment for interior decorations was kept on the main road by unknown person bringing the attention of marketers and motorists.

The Police Public Relation officer, DSP Emmanuel Abuh in a telephone interview disclosed that the items were not bomb but some equipment was inside a bag.

According to him, the command really appreciates the consciousness of the general public for their quick response by reporting the incident.

However, our correspondent gathered that all roads linking Kaduna and the 3rd division, Rukuba barrack were blocked for sometime due to mistaken bag that was thought to be a bomb device.

Some market women abandoned their goods and motor cycle riders rammed each other as they struggled to escape death.

An eye witness Mrs Docas Bitrus who sell goods in the area revealed that at about 11 am to 12PM, they saw the entire market in confusion,  so we try to ask some people but nobody gave us the  details .

We were scrambling to escape but someone surmount the courage to call the anti-bomb squad who drove to the scene and cordon the whole place and it was discovered that the  bag didn’t contain bomb.

The operation safe heaven ,spokesman ,Capt  Ikedichi Iweha in a press statement made available to media stated that Boko Haram sect are planning to attack some areas in the state capital.

Iweha warned the general public to be security conscious by reporting any suspected items to them.
