The leadership of Imo APC ably led by the State Party Chairman , Prince Marcon Nlemigbo, has officially received a very notable political heavy weight and a former Imo PDP Senatorial Aspirant for Owerri Zone, Hon Ugochukwu Harry Nwachukwu (UgoSly) at the State Secretariat,Owerri/Okigwe Road.
Addressing the marmot crowd of Imo APC party faithful(s), Hon.Ugo-sly, said abandoned PDP for APC because of the leadership style of the Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, and the dividend of democracy, he has delivered within his short stay in office.
According to him, “I also joined the APC as a result of accolades and supports so far bestowed upon the government of Imo State outside the state. I joined APC because Gov. Uzodinma has written the wrong in Imo and in the South East APC. I am now in APC just because Gov.Uzodinma came to fixed all that was destroyed in Imo State for the past years by some past Imo Governors”, UgoSly submitted.
Hon. Nwachukwu, while speaking, assured Imo APC party faithful(s) that his presence into the party would help to defend and maintain the sovereignty of APC in Imo State.
The successful defection exercise took place at the Owerri/Okigwe Road Imo APC Party Complex on Tuesday,6th July 2021, amidst fun fare.
Barr. Kingsley Ononuju, in his speech thanked Hon Ugochukwu Harry Nwachukwu (UgoSly)for heeding to his call to join the Shared Prosperity Govt.of Imo State under the Shared Prosperity Party.
He, however commended the people Ogwa Community in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State, for producing another big fish to help move the party forward.
The Imo APC State Chairman, Barr. Marcon Nlemigbo, in his closing remarks, enjoined all party faithful(s) in Mbaitoli and Owerri Zone to work as a team to achieve the desired results of delivering good governance to the grassroots.
Finally, he urged all the members and supporters of Imo APC to go and preach the political gospel of the Shared Prosperity Government into the grassroots.
Meanwhile, in a swift interview with the political celebrity, UgoSly,he expressed delight to declare his political intents with APC, recalled that he was robbed of his 2019 Owerri Zone Senate by the leadership of Imo PDP.
However, it could be recalled that UgoSly aspired to represent Owerri Zone as a Senator, and that same ambition is still on his mind to be elected as the Senator for Owerri Zone, come 2023 under the platform of APC.
Note that the defection exercise of UgoSly from PDP to APC recorded a huge success as multitudes over 10,000 supporters of his political ideology joined his train into APC.
Hon.UgoSly was also honoured, recognized, and received by one of the Apex leaders of APC in Owerri Zone, Prince Lemmy Akakem, of Orji Owerri North LGA, Imo State, alongside other leaders of the party in the zone who vowed and promised to deliver UgoSly in any future polls in the state.
