Owerri Peoples Assembly Congratulates Ihedioha, All Owerri Zone Newly Elected Persons

The Governing Council and the entire members of Owerri Peoples Assembly,OPA,have through the President General,Chief Engr.Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu,unanimously resolved that they (OPA) are very of proud of the electioneering support (votes) given to all the Owerri People Candidates especially to the Imo GovElect,Rt.Hon.Emeka Ihedioha,before and after the 2019 general election.

In a communique signed by the Secretary General of Owerri Peoples Assembly,OPA,Sir.Ben Osuagwu, and released to newsmen,on Tuesday,April 30th 2019,shortly after a meeting of the members of the governing council held at the Oriental Plaza Glass House secretariat,Ugwu Orji Owerri,the group have collectively sends hearty congratulations to all the Owerri zone people,mostly Rt.Hon.Ihedioha,for their contributions in restoring the dignity of the people of Owerri through their respective victory during the last general polls in Imo State.

OPA therefore expressed profound gratitude to our brothers in Orlu zone and Okigwe zone for all their support towards the election exercise that brought in Ihedioha as the Imo Governor Elect.

“The support of Owerri zone by the other two zones of Imo State will foster love,peace and progress in the entire state.

According to the communique,OPA have observed multifarious litigations by various individuals which they revealed that the litigations are sponsored by some people whose interest are hostile to the interest of Owerri people in particular and Imo people in general. We have hereby appealed to all the zones to for the interest of peace and progress of Imolites persuade all these litigation to withdraw all the cases from court and hands with Ihedioha in his bid to rebuilding Imo State,hence,Rt.Hon.Emeka has promised to run an all inclusive government. And we as OPA have endorsed the decision of all inclusive policy of govt.”the group states.

Furthermore,the revealed that any Owerri zone son/daughter who by birth is automatically a member of OPA,and as such should not engage on any litigation against the victory of Rt.Hon.Ihedioha.

The communique also revealed that a committee was set up by the leadership of OPA before the 2019 guber polls under the Chairmanship of one of the illustrious sons of the zone,Dr.Pascal Dozie. The committee after thorough scrutiny of all the political parties selected Rt.Hon.Ihedioha as the sole guber candidate of Owerri zone.

OPA however appealed to all the people of Owerri zone and Imolites to support the victory of Ihedioha,but vowed to sanction any person from Owerri zone who engages in any litigation against the elective governorship victory of Ihedioha.

The group in the communique further mandated the Executive to set up a special committee for the Annual Convention and the Award to distinguished sons,daughters and friends of Owerri zone,even as the communique revealed that the group have resolved to hold the General Assembly for 2019 at a data which would be announced soonest.

OPA through their communique congratulated Ihedioha and promised to support his govt.from May 29th 2019.

The group described the victory of Ihedioha as a Sacred Trust by the good people of Owerri,Orlu and Okigwe zones.

“Imo people therefore expects his tenure to bring peace,happiness and prosperity to Imolites”,OPA submitted.
