Last Saturday,Oct.12th 2019,would always remain indelible in the entire lives of all the fully registered members of the Owerri Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Men Organization, OACCMA,as they trooped out enmass for the celebration of their “2019 Owerri Archdiocesan CMO Day and Noble Catholic Family Award”, in grand styles amidst happiness, unity and fun fare.
It was in deed an unstoppable jubilation by the members of the council who invited all their family members, friends, relatives and associates from far and near,including the presence of the Imo State led administration of Gov.Emeka Ihedioha.
Speaking,the Catholic ArchBishop Owerri,His Grace,Most Rev.Anthony JV Obinna,who was the Chief Host,in his words,blessed all the Catholic Fathers for their zeal,unity and progress,especially their commitment towards the development and breakthroughs of the Owerri Catholic Archdioceses.
His Grace, AJV, while speaking, charged parents mostly fathers to always emulate the life styles of Jesus Christ,whom he described as the Lord and Personal Savior of all lives.
He therefore wished the members of OACCMO well in all their endeavors.
The religious epoch making event which took place at the Odenigbo Pavilion of the Maria Assumpta Cathedral attracted so many respected top dignitaries especially from the Christian Fathers in the Catholic faithful(s) from across the nation, Nigeria,under the Distinguished Chairmanship of Mr.Val Opara-Nestor.
The Special Guest of Honour, was the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Engr.Gerald Irona.
The Mother of the Year, was Barr.Mrs.Bene Meneke,whereas the Royal Father of the Year,was HRH Eze Dr.E.C.Okereke,of Amaifeke Orlu in Imo State.
Expressing his joy,the OACCMO President, Prince Faith Uche Iwuorisha,JP, thanked God and all the members of OACCMO for the successful 2019 CMO Day Celebration.
“We succeeded in the programme by the special grace of God. It is good to serve in the vine yard of God. We are asking God for his grace. I am calling on the society to join us,the fathers in the fight against immorality. We must endeavor to keep God’s commandments. Men should embark on evangelism to win souls for Christ. Our challenges are too enormous,mostly funding,but with God on our sides, we are breakthrough. My advise to fathers is for them to do the right at all times”, President Iwuorisha submitted.
The Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Chief A.C.Agonsi, the Chaplain,Very Rev.Fr.S.O.Igbokwe, and the Chairman,Sub-Committee,Ezinwa Victor Ogbuehi,jointly called on those who were bestowed with the Noble Catholic Family Awards to always leave up to their expectations towards the growth and unity of the church and their individual families.
Some of the awardees are: Ezinna Christian Egbujor,Mrs.(Barr) Bene Meneke,and so many others too numerous to mention.
