The National President of Arewa Pastors Forum For Peace, APFFP, Bishop Mbayor Ndarchang Japheth has called for a total overhaul of all the security Chiefs by bringing by promoting the use of modern gadgets mounted across all exist of the country borders to prevent the influx of foreigners coming to attacks and killings of Nigerian.

We are calling out the government for a complete overhaul of the security architecture in line with the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians.

 

 

Bishop Mbayor made this disclosure during the APFFP international conference with the theme, “the power of unity in the new horizon “, held at Rwang Pam Stadium on Tuesday in Jos.

 

He explained that in northern Nigeria especially the middle-belt and southern Kaduna has continued to be under the jaws of insecurity from the kidnappings, guerrillas attacks, and in the summary execution of our clergymen to the destruction of our places of worship, the trend had continued unabated.

 

According to him, the Fulani herdsmen characterized as a terrorist group by the global terrorism indexed have been responsible for thousands of deaths since 2013 which they have targeted our poor vulnerable farmers under the smokescreen of farmers herders clashes.

 

He maintained that as a peace forum we deplored and condemn these acts of killings and insurgency against our communities and farmers in the north which have all rendered us vulnerable to food insecurity and the nutrition crises.

 

The Bishop reiterated that the APFFP raised the observation that the spate of violent attacks in northern Nigeria has resulted in the displacement of many Christian communities particularly in Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Plateau, Kaduna, Zamfara, Nasarawa, and the Sokoto States.

 

However, this heinous act of brutality had left behind thousands of widows and orphans, the bogey of disappearing land resources or dire effects of climate change have remained just what it is a smokescreen as a forum we call for urgent action there before it is too late.

 

We call for a search and mopping up of small arms and light weapons in our communities but more especially in northern Nigeria where the massacre, maiming, slaughtering of people become an annual ritual.

 

We renewed our call for the protection of lives and properties of Christian communities in northern Nigeria equally treatment in the disbursement of loan grants to palliative where Christians are sidelined and other faith are given attention.

 

Bishop Mbayor frowned at are selected employment of youth in northern Nigeria where Christian boys are not given that opportunities with the lopsided appointment of key offices.

 

The Northern APFFP speaks on the declining of industries where many have been shut down and the conference is appealing for the resuscitation of it to provide gainful employment to Nigerian graduates toward tackling youths restiveness.

 

We call for physical protection of lives and properties of farmers to stem the tide of emerging food security to reduce shrink present abject poverty resulting from rural, urban divide which has entrenched inequality in the population.
