The Jigawa state govt has constructed ten Nomadic Junior Secondary Schools for the upliftment of nomadic education in the state, the schools were constructed by various local governments in the state, so as to encourage Fulani children to acquire Western and Arabic medication.
This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary Nomadic Education Hajiya Ramatu Muhd in an interview with our reporter in Dutse.
She said Jigawa State is the first state in the federation that established Junior Secondary Schools for nomads in the country.
Hajiya Ramatu said the state is the only state among the 36 states in the federation that has built 160 adult schools for nomadic education.
He added that the state government has also purchased schools uniforms and instructional materials for students for junior secondary schools in the state which cost the state N9, 893,634 million.
The agency has also fenced one of its schools at Dangan Tsaure in Dutse, the state capital to arrest encroachment and also to beef up security in the school.
She stated further that over 5000 mats were purchased and distributed to 160 adult nomadic schools in the state.
She explained further that sporting materials were purchased at the cost of N28, 919,650.00 million and distributed to nomadic schools.
Speaking further she said that inspection vehicles were also repaired at the cost of N4, 360,000 million for monitoring nomadic schools activities across the state.
