Over 2000 people in Guri community of the Hadejia Emirate of Jigawa State commenced self help work to remove Hyper-grass which blocked the  Hadejia river along Wachakal Guroji to Nguru water channel in Yobe state which was one of the project started by the federal government on clearing of the hyper-grasses from the Hadejia river in the last seven years abandoned.
The situation has caused a lot of problems for farmers in the area due to  shortage of water in the river as a result of the hyper-grasses  blockage of  the river channel in the area, the chairman of the association who led the teeming youths that carried out the  clearing of the grasses from the river Hon, Dawuro Bagana told universalreporter247.com this  during the official inspection of the community self help work.
In another development Kiri Kasamma Local Government area of Jigawa state has cemented the relationship of Fulani Cattle Rearers and Farmers whom were at loggerhead for some years due to misunderstanding.
In the process of resolving the situation the council Chairman Alhaji Maitafari Mohammed purchased new motorcycles which he donated to Fulani Miyyetti Allah leaders for them to use it in going round to enlighten their people living in the bush the importance of peaceful living in the society.
He further explained that the council has spend over N200,000 in renovating the police vehicles to improve security activities in the area  because he discovered that police and other security agencies working in the areas are partners in progress to protect lives and properties.
