Our Milestone Achievements Includes Successful Accreditation of 28 NCE And 8 Degree Programmes

The College of Education Akwanga has unfolded that the institution succeeded in accrediting 28 National Certificate of Education courses.

It further revealed that a total of 8-degree programmes affiliated with the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria got accreditations.

This was contained in a Communique issued at the end of a retreat for the Governing Council, Management staff, deans, and Unions of the College held at the De-Mandoli Hotel and Suits in Karu Local Government.

The opening ceremony was chaired by the Chairman Governing Council of the College, Shaya Awotu as he maintained that the stakeholder’s meeting was timely and became necessary to ensure good governance by applying probity, accountability, and quality service delivery by bringing all stakeholders together to proffers solution to issues bothering the College.

“We achieved all this through relentless commitment for the successful accreditation of 28 NCE courses and 8 programmes for degree”.

The communique however reeled out some of the achievements and also included some key monumental strides recorded so far, including training of over 300 on Information Communication Technology, Other superlative achievement is the employment of staff meant to close the gap in manpower deficit.

“The College also succeeded in producing an accounting manual to strengthen the account and operational function of the institution as well as enhance efficiency through the introduction of running cost.

Production of an audit manual which will be used as a guide to carry out assignments without hassle as well as to guide those in the office to improve the internal control system of the College.

The communique reeled out some of the remarkable achievements to include payment of responsibility allowances to Sectional heads.

Clearing of 8 months arrears of engaged staff and payment of their allowance as at when due.

Others are payment shift duty allowance for security staff of the college.

payment of 2015 and 2016 promotions as well as the implementation of promotions from 2017 and 2018.

The communique indicated that the achievements recorded by the current Governing Council and Management amongst others include but are not limited to

Payment of 2 percent peculiar allowance to senior non-teaching staff, Renovation of College buildings Sports complex, Theatre, Primary School, Old Administrative block, Undergraduate block, and staff offices.

The current Governing Council and management succeeded in connecting Home Economic and Undergraduate complexes as well as the production of over 450 beds for students.

Construction and renovation of lecture chairs and tables for students, Others are construction for the Agricultural Department.

The College also recruits massive staff, that is academic and non-academic staff, The exercise has improved the teacher-to-student ratio tremendously.
