The immediate past Governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha, now a Senator representing Imo West (Orlu Zone Senatorial District) was received by some members of his party, fans, supporters amidst jubilation of mammoth crowd who came from across the 27 LGAs of the State who stormed the Sam Mbakwe Int’l Cargo Airport Owerri, and gave him resounding welcome.
The Imo APC and Imo AA party supporters on their uncontrollable songs of victory navigated and escorted the Senator Rochas from the Airport down to his Rochas Plaza in Owerri municipal, which is located just opposite the Imo State Govt. House with heavy sounds of solidarity, chanted all forms of war songs and various kinds of intimidating rhythms.
Addressing the crowd, Sen.Okorocha expressed satisfaction to be a serving member of the Nigerian House of Senate.
The Senator, while speaking, promised to offer quality and effective representation to the good people of Imo West, Ndi-Imo and Ndi-Igbo at large.
He more so expressed dissatisfaction over what he described as a distraction, harassment and alleged intimidation of his family members by the current Imo State Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha.
Hear him: “They should not take the silence of the youths and masses for granted. “If they harass you again, you are motivated to harass them back. They must stop harassing citizens of this state. Let know one harass any citizens in Imo State”, he encouraged.
“I am now calling on the security agencies to call these people to order. If they don’t stop them, we will stop them. They should work for the people of Imo State, and harassing the people”, he warned
He continued: “They have not done any single project in Imo state. I am going to have a meeting with youths of Imo State, soonest. Since they say that they will not listen to Imo people. I have some people that are giving me information from government house that is telling me what they planing against me.”
The past Imo Governor, Okorocha, however, threatened to fight Gov.Ihedioha in any form.
He said” Go and tell him that I am back in Imo, let him come and do his wish. I am fully back, ready and waiting for Ihedioha. I know he has nothing to offer. I left a very big shoe that he cannot even fit to wear. He should face governance and left me and my family members alone. Go and tell him to get ready for me. I am back. Off course, I know that his thinking is small, he is also small. He can not do anything tangible for the State”.
All efforts tried to contact Gov.Ihedioha’s Chief Press Secretary,Mr. Chibuike Onyeukwu to respond on this matter proved abortive.
