Ohaji/Egbema:  Eze Abyssinia In-Charge Of Obile Community, Leaders Debunk Dethronement Reportage

Following a recent Newspaper Publication made by the Newspaper last Tuesday, 14th Dec.2021, in Owerri, with the headline: “Obile Community agog as Court dethrones Abyssinia over certificate forgery installs HRH Eze Chibundu Alphonsus as Obile new Eze”.

 

The recognized Traditional Ruler of Obile Autonomous Community in Ohaji/Egbema LGA, Imo State, HRH Eze Abyssinia Columbus Ogbuji, has described the said news on his alleged dethronement as a rumour and falsehood paraded by some disgruntled elements from his community who do not have the good interests of Obile at hearts.

 

Speaking, a Community Leader from Obile , Chief Jude Nwaneri Opara, who was a  former General Manager of Adapalm, expressed worry over the dethronement rumour which he described as an untrue.

 

Chief Opara, while speaking described those paddling fake news against Eze Ogbuji’s Kingdom as joy-killers and enemies of the progress and haters of the lasting peace in Obile Community.

 

“Those paddling such fake news are the core enemies of Obile. They are known as rumormongers and imposters led one Mr. Alphonsus Enweremadu Chibundu who claims to have been installed as Eze but was not enthroned as alleged in their baseless publications”, Chief Opara hinted.

 

Chief Jude who reacted to the above news caption described the dethronement reports as baseless and untrue as portrayed by some disgruntled elements from Obile, added that the Traditional Royalship of his kingdom led by Eze Ogbuji is still intact and unshaken.

 

Narrating the full details of Obile Royal stole, Chief Opara, revealed that the matter in court is not an Ezeship tussle rather a document concerning a supposed certificate forgery, recognition letter, and that of the constitution.

 

In a related development, another leader and stakeholders from Obile, Hon. Innocent Omaai, who spoke as the former Supervisory Councilor for Works/Housing and Transport, in Ohaji/ Egbema, explained that the case was heard at the court based on the allegations leveled against Eze Abyssinia bordering on certificate forgery was discharged and acquitted by the Presiding Magistrate in Owerri.

 

Hon. Innocent capping, “Eze Colombus was never dethroned by any court and was not told by the court never to parade himself as a Traditional Ruler. Some opponents and detractors of our Traditional Ruler who weren’t happy with the progressive nature of the throne are crying foul by trying to instigate crisis in Obile”.

 

The former pioneer elected Youth President of Obile Youth Movement, OYM, Hon.Omaai, furthermore expressed dissatisfaction with the inglorious newspaper publications against the rulership of Eze Ogbuji.

 

The 2019 IMHA Contestant for Ohaji/ Egbema, Omaai, in his narratives, strongly argued that Eze Colombus was never dethroned by any court as misinformed by the enemies of Obile.

 

 

“Though, if such thing happened, then Eze Abyssinia has the right to appeal any verdict on that. But, in a very straight record, he was never instructed not to parade himself as a Royal Father by any court. The magistrate court earlier acknowledged they do not have the jurisdiction to determine who would be an Eze.

 

“On the issue of alleged as certificate forgery/ letter of Ezeship recognition, Eze Columbus therein was discharged and acquitted by the court”, Omaai revealed.

 

He disclosed that Colombus has been on the throne as Eze for over 18 years, receiving all his monthly payment financial entitlements (salaries) and other allowances as a recognized Monarch through the government of Imo State of Nigeria.

 

The Pioneer Vice President of National Congress of Ohaji Youths, NACOY, Innocent, advised the good people of Obile especially the youths to ignore such baseless publications on the dethronement of Eze Colombus.

 

Omaai, who was the former Transition Committee Member for Obile in Ohaji/ Egbema, therefore called on the state government, the judiciary, the law enforcement agencies and the security operators in the state to ensure the urgent arrest of all those instigating communal crisis through their sponsorship of the alleged dethronement of Obile Monarch.

 

Also speaking, the President General of Obile, Hon.Harmony Eze, in his few words, expressed satisfaction with leadership of Eze Abyssinia, added that the people of Obile are comfortable with the Royal authority of his Traditional Ruler, who according to him, is loved, respected and honored by all his subjects.

 

The Obile PG, Harmony, furthermore described Eze Abyssinia as a man of peace, accommodating, and God-fearing, whose leadership achievements as the custodian of culture have attracted rapid development, security, and love amongst the entire people of Obile.

 

Eze, therefore, called on the good people of Obile, Ohaji/Egbema, and Imo State at large to disregard all the dethronement reportages made against the rulership of Eze Abyssinia.

 

He finally appealed to all and sundry in Obile Community especially those he tagged detractors to continue to encourage peace but advised those who are enemies of the progress in Obile to repent or face the wrath of the land.
