The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has called on governorship aspirant Maurice Vunobolki to return to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and contest the 2027 gubernatorial election under its platform.
The union expressed strong confidence in Vunobolki’s leadership credentials, describing him as the most suitable candidate to secure victory for the PDP in Adamawa State. NURTW leaders pledged their loyalty and readiness to mobilize support across the state should he heed their appeal.
Vunobolki, who defected from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) approximately three months ago, announced his resignation from the APC last week.
He cited concerns over what he described as a lack of fairness within the party, warning that such issues could undermine its future prospects.
Reacting to his recent political moves, the NURTW emphasized that Adamawa has historically been aligned with the PDP and would continue to perform better under its leadership.
The union maintained that Vunobolki’s return would strengthen the party’s chances in the upcoming election.
In a similar development, groups representing persons living with disabilities in the state also appealed to the aspirant to rejoin the PDP.
They commended his philanthropic contributions, noting that his past interventions have positively impacted many vulnerable individuals and communities.
Both the NURTW and the disability groups reiterated their commitment to supporting Vunobolki, urging him to consider their appeals in the interest of unity and political progress in Adamawa State.
