NUJ President Charges Nigerian Journalists To According To The Ethics Of The Profession, By Umar Faruq Usman, Dutse

The National President of Nigerian Union of Journalist NUJ Comrade Muhammed Garba has urged Nigerian journalists working with various media in the country to unite with the security officials working in the country at various levels to ensure that security is achieved.

Garba lamented over the poor state of the Nigerian economy,  we are having in the country as he said that Journalists has a better role to play to in assisting the government and business groups.

He decried the dwindling of the Nigerian economy, a situation which has led the majority of the federal government workers to stay for three to five months without salary, even as he said the same is seen in most of the media houses where Journalists are not paid properly.

Advising journalists he said that they need to be careful, especially during this election year which approaches near.

Admonishing them, he said that Journalists must be guided by the ethics and the constitution of the Nigerian Press, he also added that they should not be partisan to any party in the country.
