NUJ Plateau Council Commences Electioneering Campaign As Paul Jatau And Putmang Amos Pick Chairmanship Nomination

The Plateau Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) will soon go to poll to elect its new executives; this as two aspirants has picked nomination forms for the position of Chairmanship of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau state.

Mr Paul Jatau of the Nigerian standard Newspaper and Putmang Iliya Amos of the Plateau Radio Television Cooperation, (PRTVC) ,Jos were the aspirants who are to slog its out when the election is held at the end of September, 2017.

The Chairman credentials committee Mr Sunday Zelengs has commended the PRTVC chapel headed by Friday Drewam and campaign coordinator Wukat Gofen for mobilizing their members as part of NUJ to identity with the leadership.

He assured other chapels of their transparency to all those individuals who obtained forms to vie for various positions by wishing all the aspirants success in their endeavor.

“We shall follow the national NUJ lay down guidelines by adhering strictly to the dateline and encouraging each chapel to register online which cost is five thousands naira as a prequalification “, he said

We want to do this work with the fear of God because we are all professional journalists in the practice so those vying for various position most respect the rule of the game.

From the PRTVC chapel Putmang Iliya is contesting for the Chairmanship position while for financial secretary is Ayuku Pwaspo  others are assistant secretary Jabbe Detawo Atu and Ladi Emmanuel of state information is to slog out with Peter Amine of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) ,Ben Mitu Vice Chairman of NTA , Murtala Mohammed of the Highland Radio and Gwamkat Gwamzhi for treasury .

As responsible chapel ,the Chairman lauded the committee for taken courage to educate and enlighten all aspirants to conduct themselves during and after the campaign.

Derwam maintains that PRTVC chapel is interested in the development of journalism in the  Plateau state and the country .
