NSCDC Trains 270 On Weapons Handling Combat Maneuvers In Plateau Command

At least no fewer than 270 personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been trained for armed combat maneuvers, stropping, assembling, review of guards and performance by trainees.

The Commandant ,Plateau State command , Commandant  Solomon A.Olasupo disclosed this during the Batch 6 passing out parade of offices and men of NSCDC on weapons training and handling and internal security on Wednesday.

He said; “this day marks another milestones in the life of the NSCDC plateau command because it is passing out another batch of armed trained personnel out of the 1,500 approved by the national command of the corps recently”.

Olasupo stressed that the survival of our democracy lies on security democracy cannot survive in an environment of riot, disorder, revolt strikes, religious unrest, political gangsterism, inter-party squabbles.

According to him, the survival of our Democratic government is rooted in sound economic development and sound economic development cannot be attained in a situation of economic saboteurs and vandals.

He cautioned the citizens that the corps is poised to exposed to any form of corruption inimical to the growth and development of this country.

Olusupo explained further that the corps has established units such as anti-fraud and anti-corruption and transparency units that work cooperatively and collaboratively with the economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC) the independent corrupt practices commission (ICPC).

Governor Simon Bako Lalong urged the NSCDC plateau command to expose the activities of criminal the state by practicalizing their training.

The commandant has appreciated the Plateau state government for providing enabling environment for the training the commander operation safe Haven for providing military trainers, the trainees for their sense of loyalty and service to their fatherland.

Olasupo applauded the permanent security Mr. Cornelius and the director of research Mr. Jonah who have contributed to the success of the training of the NSCDC plateau state command.

He noted that the members of the armed squad shall use the arms for the prevention of criminal activities in line with the mandate laid down in act regulating the operations of the corps

Olasupo reminded the members of the squad that they shall be duty bound to ensure the safety of innocent persons in the discharge of their duties beings mindful of the rules norms and convention guiding the usage and handling of arms in the society.

Governor Simon Bako Lalong urged the NSCDC plateau state command to put their knowledge of training into practical used by ensuring that criminal activities is reduce to the barest minimum towards crimes free society.

He reminded them to always be ambassador of the NSCDC anywhere they found themselves in duty and to put their wisdom to help humanity.

Governor Lalong was represented by the commandant Operations Rainbow, Major General Steven Goar at the NSCDC training ground NITEL former headquarters in Jos North local government area of plateau state.

Lalong said the weapons handling combat maneuvers are poised to expose them to so many area of security management in security apparatus in a Democratic government.
