Notorious Kidnap Kingpin, Jiji Mujugu, Killed In Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has recorded another operational success against criminal elements following credible information from a member of the public.

Police operatives, in collaboration with joint security personnel, arrested a member of a kidnapping gang responsible for the abduction of Alh. Abu Geza of Geza Village in Bagudo LGA of the State.

The suspect led operatives to the gang leader’s hideout, where Jiji Mujugu opened fire and attempted to escape. Operatives returned fire, killing him on the spot. One locally fabricated pistol was recovered from him.

The Kebbi State Police Command has deployed tactical personnel to Tsamiya Town following an attack by suspected terrorists in the late hours of 20th June 2026.

The assailants invaded the area, fired sporadically, and set ablaze a makeshift checkpoint belonging to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), a local brothel, and the residence of one Sule Mai Goge. One Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare was also kidnapped during the incident.

Upon receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police immediately directed the deployment of additional security forces to secure lives and property. A comprehensive investigation into the incident has since commenced, and efforts to rescue the kidnapped victim and track the perpetrators are ongoing.

The command assures residents of Tsamiya and environs that security operations will continue until normalcy is fully restored. Members of the public are urged to remain calm and vigilant

According to the Police PPRO, Bashir Usman, in a press statement, the gang had been terrorising communities including Geza, Adawa, Matsinkai, Sharabi, Illela, Suru, Dakin Gari, Bagudo, and surrounding areas. Efforts to arrest other fleeing members are ongoing.

The Commissioner of Police commends the public for their cooperation and urges residents to continue providing timely information and reporting suspicious activities via 09039911876 or 07081074395, adding that all information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
