As this year’s rainy season gathers momentum, the executive chairman of Doma local government of Nasarawa State, Arch.Ahmed Sarki Usman has warned trouble makers in the locality to desist from attacking farmers or faced the consequences of his or their action.
He gave the hint during Ekye Peace and Unity Forum tagged “Ekye Peace Summit 2022 , for all the major ethnic, religious, and political stakeholders in Ekye Development Area of Nasarawa state organized by Godspower Eddeh held at Abacha youth centre Lafia.
Sarki warned herders in the habit of trespassing into farmland to have a rethink or the law will catch on them and prosecute them for the breach of the peace of the land.
Giving the assurance that Fulani herders must allow farms to go to farm this rainy season for food to be sufficient for the teaming population.
A former member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Anthony Obande has appealed to politicians in Ekye to cooperate with one another for the interest of Ekye.
“Whether we like it or not, our villages are greater than us, and for this reason, we must contribute to the development of our communities “.
Obande admonished stakeholders of Ekye to be visiting their communities frequently for the interest of generations yet unborn.
The paramount ruler of Idadu, Muhammad Addra in his speech tasked the people of Ekye for attitudinal change and positive impact by stakeholders of the community.
Urging those at the helms of affairs at all levels to contribute their quota towards nation-building, admonished those that attain the age of eighteen to avail themselves to the ongoing voter’s registration exercise.
The organizer thanked all the stakeholders of Ekye development area for their presence at the peace and unity forum despite their tight schedules.
